Parents are not to be blamed because their parents did that to them when they were kids. It's in the genes I'd say.

It's almost second nature to 99% of all humans. Once we become adults, a few of us might choose to consciously grow out of unwanted people pleasing. This also happens when one experiences spiritual growth.
